Violet With Julep and Rainbow Honey

I have loved nail polish since I was very young.  In the last year this love has grown immensely, and this blog is the result.  My goal is to show you beautiful polish and real manicures, even when they look awful.  Thanks for joining me!

Today's mani is the final one in a challenge I did with my good friend Alyson of Beads. Nails. Food..  We have been doing a rainbow challenge, working our way through the colors of the rainbow.  The final color is violet.

I started with my naked nails.

Then I added the nail treatment I recently started using, Nailtiques Formula 2, as my base coat.  My dear friend Sarah of My Lacquer Family swears by this nail treatment and gave me a bottle.  So far I love it.  It's nail protein and I can already tell that my nails are getting stronger.

I decided to use three polishes, Julep MorganJulep Brooke, and Rainbow Honey The Element of Magic.

I used two coats of Morgan as my base.  Julep describes Morgan as a "frosty grape purple shimmer".  The frost is very easy to see in the bottle and on the nail.

This is not a color I would wear by itself as it's a bit too frosty for my liking but I think it makes a great base for a mani.  When you really look at the polish on your nails, you start to see the shimmer.

You can see the blue and pink in the color.  I wish it was more prominent than the frost but it's still gorgeous.

Next I added one coat of Brooke which Julep describes as a "sheer purple micro-glitter".  Below is a close up picture of the bottle so you can see just how beautiful this polish is.  I've had it for almost a year but this is my first time wearing it.

One coat of Brooke really transforms Morgan.

I wanted more glitter so I added one coat of The Element of Magic from Rainbow Honey's Equestria collection.

Rainbow Honey describes The Element of Magic as "several shades of purple and pink glitter, some holographic, some iridescent, and a sprinkling of fairy dust all in a shimmery purple base with a magical blue shift".

This polish is so complex and a complete stunner!

Once I layered it on, I topped the mani with a thick coat of Seche Vite.

These three polishes are gorgeous together!

The macro shots really show off the beauty of this mani.

Thanks for reading and I would love to hear your thoughts on this mani in the comments!
