Indie Week: Mint Edition

Happy Tuesday!  This week I am going to be focusing on using indie polishes that remain untried in my stash.  Today my goal was to pick something that was mint.  I selected Rainbow Honey Siren Song layered over Priti NYC Lungwort.

As usual, I started with a base coat of Nailtiques 2.  Then I added two coats of Priti NYC Lungwort.  Priti describes Lungwort as an "icy mint green".  It's difficult to capture in pictures but Lungwort comes off as a very bright mint, almost neon.

It's a beautiful color on it's own.  I know you're probably thinking that Lungwort is a really weird name.  Priti names their polishes after flowers.  Lungwort is a flowering plant with leaves that grow in a rosette pattern.  This is my favorite of all the Priti polishes I own.

Next I added one coat of Rainbow Honey Siren Song.  Siren Song is part of Rainbow Honey's Chrono Cross Collection.  This was the first collection I purchased from Rainbow Honey.  I was most excited for this polish but it's been untried.

Rainbow Honey describes Siren Song as "a shimmering aqua color loaded with glitter, tinsel, and holographic sparkle".  I have never looked at this polish and thought "well, that's clearly aqua".  To me, this polish has always been more of a mint color.  When you see all the glitter loaded in the bottle, you can see how apt the name of this polish is.

This polish is gorgeous.  In mythology, Sirens sang a song to lure sailors to their deaths.  Like this polish, the Siren's song had an appeal that was almost impossible to resist.

Layered over Lungwort, you can see the aqua in the polish but there is also a mint and gold shimmer that are so hard to capture on camera.

I topped this mani with a coat of Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat.  Sometimes I reach for this instead of Gelous because I like how it hardens to provide extra strength for my nails.

Finally, I added one coat of Seche Vite.  Overall, I am very pleased with how this mani turned out.  I really wish the camera could pick up on all the beauty you can see in person.

Check back tomorrow to see another indie!
